A few weekends ago I had a chance to wake up super early and drive into Kansas City to the Farmers Market. I got some wonderful images and would like to share them with you! There are a wide array of items from flowers to peppers, many colors…. I love color!

It’s been a few months since I’ve been able to creatively and successfully get a good quality shoot. Finally I think I’m back. I’m beginning my last year of school, my fiance will be back home in a month (after 9 long months!), and I feel ready to take on the world….

Images you see below are the the starting of a cook book that Marie Newell (my best friend) is doing for her honors project (You can see more on her blog as she get more work done). These exact images may not make it into the book, but are my favorites from this shoot. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!

We (meaning Marie…. I watched ) Picked quite a few blackberries. The plan I believe is to make them into Jam later this week and I’m sure I can get some great images from that as well!

We made a few loafs of bread that day as well and this is just a few of the ingredients used in making the bread.

I must say that I love Halloween!  One it’s just freaking awesome that everyone can dress up in crazy crazy outfits and two, it’s the day after my birthday!!!! (the BIG 21 woot woot)  I had a great last night and thank all my friends that were able to come out and buy me a drink or two and dance with me!  I could post a few pictures from last night, but I don’t want to scare all of you. HA  But here is a recent addition to the what the duck comic strip in the spirit of Halloween!  Have fun tonight and be safe!… (check your candy for razor blades.)….. te he he      -Jackie

In my wedding and Location photography class we were to shoot portraits using a portable flash system. For my assignment I choose the Q-flash because I love them so. I took my model Tiara to downtown Warrensburg, MO for this shoot. Here are my favorite shoots.

Professor Jerry Schmidt

This was the third assignment for my advanced studio techniques class. It was to manipulate the lighting to seem if the scene was shot with just natural lighting that happens outside. To do this we played with Kelvin temperatures, mixed flash and hot lights, as well as colored gels. Since it is fall and I always make S’mores this time of year I went with that theme. A difficulty I faced was trying to ‘roast’ the marshmallow. I originally was going to bring my microwave to the studio, but I was unable to carry the bulky thing around. So I used a lighter to melt it and it worked out wonderfully. The warm light is ‘campfire’ light and the cool light is ‘moon light’.

We were lucky enough to be able to have a model pose in her wedding gown for some portraits during one of our Wedding and Location Photography classes taught by Jerry Schmidt. We took her to a near by town, Sedalia, and got some great images. We went to the ‘highway garden’ in the state fair grounds as well as the historic downtown area. Here are my favorite 5 from the shoot.

October 10th I shot Matt and Hilary’s wedding at Blind Boone Park in Warrensburg, Missouri. It was a small, but intimate affair filled with the love of close friends and family. They are a charming couple that will bring grace into the lives of everyone around them.
